Curious about gel plate printing or feeling confused by the printing process? Are you finding gel plate transfers maddening? You are not alone, and I am here to help.

Join me for “Resist and Layer: Gel Plate Monotype Printing,” a LIVE and RECORDED gel plate workshop that helps demystify the gelli plate monotype printing process.

We’ll discuss the differences among gel plates, paints, and papers, and how they can impact a successful transfer. I’ll also be answering my most common questions, including “How the hell do I make this photo transfer work?” “What the heck is even happening here?” and explaining ways to achieve a satisfying peel off the plate.

You will also learn paper stencil strategies, discover new ways to “think in layers,” and hear highlights on colors, tools, source materials, and ways to stay inspired.

  • Is this recorded to view later? Yes! You do not need to attend the LIVE Demo and workshop to benefit from the info in “Resist & Layer.” The recording is available for three months post-workshop, and the PDF is yours forever.

  • Is there a materials list? I do not send a materials list before the workshop, as I will be reviewing several brands of plates, paints, and papers. Participants are encouraged to review the recording and PDF to determine what combination of brands and products works best for their budget and art practice. All suggested materials and their notes are included in the "resist & Layer" PDF.
