Join artist and educator Laura Weiler for a guided demonstration of the technical world of collage. This live workshop offers a comprehensive foundation in the tools, materials, and application techniques behind cut-and-paste art. You’ll follow along as Laura dives deep into adhesives, cutting tools, and substrates, exploring how they interact (and sometimes don’t!) across a wide range of materials.
Through clear, close-up demos, Laura will share best practices for using different glues, papers, blades, and backings. You’ll also get a broad overview of trusted brands and tools, plus an inside look at her favorite sourcing methods, storage tips, and collage art resources.
This course is for anyone who:
Has a question or curiosity about the technical and organizational side of college art
Wants to deepen their knowledge and skill set as a beginner or intermediate paper artist
Wants a creative outlet that is affordable and accessible
What you get:
A warm and informative learning environment, with questions encouraged
2.5+ hours of the recorded workshop content
A “Collage 101” PDF Booklet with all the information from the workshop

Common Questions:
Will there be a LIVE DEMO? Yes! I will be sharing a LIVE demo reviewing several cutting tools and adhesives with tips on best practices for use, combinations, and brand review.
Is this recorded to view later? Yes! You do not need to attend the LIVE Demo and class to benefit from the info in “Collage 101.” The recording is available for three months post-workshop, and the PDF is yours forever.
Is there a materials list? I do not send a materials list before the class. There will be no formal instruction on a project to work on during our time together, but you are, of course, welcome to collage during the lecture and demonstration!
